One Last Empress reigns supreme in Bob Bryant Stakes

With speedy morning-line favorite Msbrooklynbrawler scratched, One Last Empress overwhelmed one other pace rival and went on to an easy win in the $63,150 Bob Bryant Stakes for Iowa-bred 3-year-old fillies on Friday night at Prairie Meadows.
One Last Empress took over on the far turn from early pacesetter One Last Brunch and wasn’t challenged thereafter, winning by four lengths over Sequence of Events. Tracy Racy finished three-quarters of a length farther back in third.
One Last Empress paid $6 to win and was timed in 1:10.31 for six furlongs on a fast track. Larren Delorme rode her for trainer Ray Ashford and owner and breeder Runaway Racing LLC. One Last Empress is a daughter of Daaher and the Empire Maker mare Swift Empress. She won outside the maiden ranks for the first time Friday, capturing her first stakes race after a pair of placings in Iowa-bred competition last summer.
