One found not guilty in fen-phen case

A federal jury in Covington, Ky., on Tuesday found lawyer Melbourne Mills Jr. not guilty of conspiring to defraud clients in a 2002 settlement with the manufacturer of the diet-drug combination fen-phen.

The jury continued to deliberate over identical charges for two other lawyers, Shirley Cunningham Jr. and William Gallion, who are part-owners of Curlin, the 2007 Horse of the Year. They have been in jail since late last year.
