One-day qualifier set for BCBC

The headline event Sunday on tournaments.drf.com is a one-day qualifier to the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge. Players must put up $190, and at least two $10,500 packages for the BCBC will be awarded – these include full buy-ins to the BCBC plus $500 for travel. The contest will use the live format, and up to three entries per player will be allowed.

Also on Sunday, tournaments.drf.com will be hosting a one-day qualifier for the Santa Anita Gold Cup contest, to be held at the Great Race Place on June 25-26. The winner will be eligible for a $1 million bonus should he go on to win the BCBC and an additional $1 million should the same player then win the National Handicapping Championship. The buy-in for Sunday’s qualifier is $225, and one winning package will be awarded for every 26 entries. Packages include $4,500 buy-ins and $500 for travel. The contest will use the live format, and up to three entries per player will be allowed.

Newer and lower-bankroll players will want to consider playing in Sunday’s NHC feeder. The buy-in is $21, and the top 10 percent of entries will win a $190 entry to the Saturday, June 11 (Belmont Day) feeder. If they do well there, they will be eligible to win their share of $2.5 million at the NHC in January. The feeder will use the all-in format, so take note: All picks must be entered before the scheduled post time of the first race – not the off time – and cannot be changed.
