Olorda to eventually join Team Brown

ELMONT, N.Y. – Olorda will be trainer Chad Brown’s foe in Saturday’s Grade 1 Belmont Oaks, but sometime next month she will be his friend.
Olorda, recently purchased by owner Martin Schwartz, will return to Germany after Saturday to run in the German Oaks on Aug. 2, according to her current trainer, Michael Figge. But she eventually will return to the U.S. to be based with Brown, who counts Schwartz among his primary clients.
◗ March, the winner of the Grade 2 Woody Stephens on Belmont Stakes Day, was held out of Saturday’s Grade 2, $500,000 Dwyer Stakes and instead will point to the Grade 2, $200,000 Amsterdam Stakes on Aug. 2, Brown said.
“He needed a little more time,” said Brown, whose primary Saratoga objective with March is the Grade 1 King’s Bishop on Aug. 29.
