Olmosta rallies from last

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Olmosta closed from last for a neck win over favorite Sweet Idea in the $50,000 JEH Stallion Station Stakes for Texas-bred fillies and mares at Lone Star Park on Saturday. It was another length and a quarter back in third to Annie Savoy.

Olmosta ($11) trailed the field early in the 6 1/2-furlong race, as Sweet Idea and Best Expectations dueled through an opening quarter in 22.62 seconds. Olmosta advanced on the turn, came into the stretch four wide, and outdueled Sweet Idea to the wire. Olmosta covered the distance over a fast track in 1:16.20 under Richard Eramia.

"Before the race, we talked about three or four horses going to the front and the race setting up real good for us," said Andrew Konkoly, who trains Olmosta for Anjo Racing Inc.

Olmosta, 4, earned $30,000 for the win, her eighth from 25 starts. She has now earned $140,415.
