Olivia Twist takes stakes debut in Trapeze

Olivia Twist closed out the Remington Park meet on a perfect note Saturday night when she came through along the rail for a two-length victory over Demi in the $100,000 Trapeze.
It was another half-length back to third to Lucky Deputy.
Olivia Twist was making her stakes debut in the one-mile race for 2-year-old fillies after winning both a maiden special weight sprint and a first-level allowance route at Remington. She is now 3 for 3 in her career.
The Trapeze was one of six stakes on a card led by the $400,000 Springboard Mile won by Wildatlanticstorm ($32). The races were worth a cumulative $840,000.
Olivia Twist ($3.60) settled in third in the Trapeze, behind fractions of 23.70 seconds for the opening quarter, 47.59 for the half-mile, and 1:13.52 for six furlongs. She waited for racing room into the stretch, came through along the inside and accelerated. Olivia Twist covered the distance on a fast track in 1:40.14.

“I was just waiting. I was loaded,” winning rider Cristian Torres said in a post-race interview broadcast by Remington. “As soon as it opened up, she did it.”
Todd Fincher trains Olivia Twist and said in the same interview that she would ship Monday to Oaklawn Park.
Torres is the current leading rider at Oaklawn, where earlier in the day Saturday he won the $200,000 Tinsel aboard Bal Harbour. He then traveled to Remington Park, where he was previously based, for the closing-night card Saturday. Upon his arrival, Torres was honored as Remington’s leading rider for 2022.
Olivia Twist is a daughter of Mshawish and a half-sister to Grade 3 West Virginia Derby winner Skippylongstocking. She races for Chris Coleman.
Famed takes She’s All In
Famed, a half-sister to champion Essential Quality, won around two turns for the first time in the $100,000 She’s All In, darting home by 6 3/4 lengths over pacesetter Hailey’s Melody. It was another neck back in third to Cleopatra’s Charge.
The She’s All In was for fillies and mares over one mile, 70-yards.
Famed ($3.20) settled in fourth behind fractions of 23.87 for the opening quarter and 47.75 for the half-mile. She advanced through six furlongs in 1:12.80, came three wide into the stretch, and pulled clear while covering the distance in 1:43.17.
“It was very important to win,” jockey Florent Geroux said in an interview conducted by Remington. “She’s super well-bred.”
The She's All In was the first stakes win for Famed. Geroux was aboard for breeder and owner Godolpin and trainer Brad Cox. Famed is by Uncle Mo. She has now won 4 of 9 starts for earnings of $310,133.
Rated R Superstar in Hawk
The 9-year-old gelding Rated R Superstar collected his fourth stakes win of the year in the $100,000 Jeffrey Hawk Memorial when he drove down the center of the track for a half-length victory over Number One Dude. It was another 1 3/4 lengths back in third to Shadrack.
Rated R Superstar began his season in January with a win in the Fifth Season at Oaklawn, and in a post-race interview conducted by Remington owner Danny Caldwell said the Fifth Season was again a goal for Rated R Superstar. The horse also won the Grade 3 Essex in March at Oaklawn and the $175,000 Governor’s Cup in August at Remington.
Rated R Superstar ($9.60) rode the rail in the early stages of the Hawk. He was content to led the pace go, with Hello Hot Rod showing the way through an opening quarter in 24.47 seconds, a half-mile in 49.12, and six furlongs in 1:13.34. Rated R Superstar was angled out, came five wide into the stretch, and rolled home to cover the one mile, 70 yards in 1:42.51.
Isaac Castillo was aboard for trainer Federico Villafranco.
Rated R Superstar has now won 13 of 65 starts for earnings of more than $1.7 million. The multiple graded stakes winner is a son of Kodiak Kowboy.
Double for Den’s Legacy
Hits Pricey Legacy ($2.60) won her third stakes race of the meet when she darted to a two-length win over Plenty of Vision in the $70,000 Useeit. The race was for 3-year-old fillies bred in Oklahoma.
Hits Pricey Legacy covered the mile in 1:40.70.
Jose Alvarez was aboard the daughter of Den’s Legacy for her breeder, owner and trainer, C.R. Trout. Earlier in the meet, Hits Pricey Legacy won a division of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes and the Grade 3, $200,000 Remington Park Oaks.
Den’s Legacy had a second stakes winner on the night when Rowdy Rascal ($24.60) took them all the way for a 1 3/4-length victory over favorite Beckett’s Luckyday in the $70,000 Jim Thorpe. The one-mile race was for 3-year-olds bred in Oklahoma. The winner covered the distance in 1:40.03. Alfredo Triana Jr. was aboard for JT Stables and trainer Boyd Caster.
*** End Zone Athletics was honored as the meet’s leading owner and Karl Broberg notched the leading trainer title this season at Remington.
