Ole's Miss looking impressive ahead of Emerald Downs Handicap

Ole’s Miss could benefit from what is likely to be a hotly contested duel between Dawselina and Arabella’s Muse in the Emerald Downs Handicap.
Trained by Tracy McCarthy, Ole’s Miss came from last to edge Arabella’s Muse by a neck in the $50,000 Ross McLeod Stakes in her first start this year. She couldn’t have been more impressive when she came back and worked five furlongs in 59.20 seconds May 24 and appears to be sitting on another big race.
Amadeo Perez retains the mount.
Dawselina is gunning for her fourth straight win, and she led right from the start in her three previous scores. Despite the presence of Arabella’s Muse, trainer Pedro Alvarado wasn’t planning to change her running style.
“She drew inside, so we’re not taking back,” Alvarado said. “That’s the way she runs, so we aren’t going to change things now.”
Arabella’s Muse moved from trainer Toni Cloutier to Mike Anderson following her first loss in the Ross McLeod, and it will be interesting to see if she can stalk Dawselina in her first start for Anderson.
