Ol Winedrinker Who won the $100,000 Ruidoso Downs Thoroughbred Championship for the second year in a row on Monday, overtaking pacesetter Bourbon Sense for a 2 1/4-length victory. Bourbon Sense held second, finishing six lengths clear of 4-5 favorite Isn’t He Clever.
The Ruidoso Downs Thoroughbred Championship was an undercard stakes supporting the Grade 1, $3 million All American Futurity for Quarter Horse won by Jess Good Candy ($23.20)
Ol Winedrinker Who ($4.60) settled off the pace set by Bourbon Sense in the 1 1/16-mile race, overtook the leader, and went on to cover the distance on a track rated fast in 1:47.09. Isaias Enriquez was aboard for trainer Joel Marr.
