The 4-year-old colt I’m Stoked handled his first stakes assignment, using his speed to score a front-running 4 3/4-length victory in Monday’s $50,000 George Barker Stakes for New York-breds at Finger Lakes.
Ridden by Wilfredo Rohena for trainer Mike Hushion and owners Chester and Mary Broman, I’m Stoked ($3.10) posted fractions of 22.39 and 44.59 seconds en route to completing six furlongs in 1:10.07. It was his fifth win in eight lifetime starts.
Bug Juice, returning for Finger Lakes for the first time since winning the Aspirant and New York Breeders’ Futurity nearly four years ago, finished second, 2 ¼ lengths in front of Sundae On Sunday.
