Ocean Downs: Maryland Sire Stakes champions crowned
Three-year-olds were atop the marquee on Wednesday night at Ocean Downs as four $85,000 Maryland Sire Stakes finals took place.
Driver Jonathan Roberts swept the trots, guiding Googoo Gaagaa filly Call Me Goo, bred by Bib Roberts, to a 1:59 2/5 win from the two-hole for trainer Jason Skinner and owner Graham Grace Stables LLC. and Cam's Rocket gelding Tenouttaten to a 2:01 1/5 victory on the engine for breeder/owner/trainer Kerry Welty.
Call Me Goo, who led a sweep of the top four positions for sire Googoo Gaagaa, won for the tenth time from 14 starts, has now earned $174,737 and paid $2.40 to win as the 1-5 favorite, while Tenouttaten made his third appearance in the winner's circle, sent his bankroll to $104,432, and returned $6.00 to win as the 2-1 second choice.

The filly pace went to a front-stepping Val's Girl in 1:57 for driver Roger Plante Jr., trainer Steve Le Blanc, and owners Leblanc Racing Inc., William Lutz Jr. and Count De Money Stable, and Babes All In got up late from the pocket to win the colt and gelding pace in 1:54 1/5 for driver Jared Moyer and breeder/owner/trainer Ronald Short.
Val's Girl, who was bred by Thomas and Linda Winebrener, has a summary of 14-2-0 from 16 trips behind the gate, has put away $195,453 and paid $6.20 to win as the 2-1 second choice. Babes All In is now a six-time winner from 13 efforts, has pocketed $127,895 and returned $3.60 to win as the 4-5 choice.
