Race 3: $5,000 Claiming Pace

(2) WAIMAC ATTACK N hasn't done anything of note in his 13YO season but the veteran gets significant post relief when compared to his first two Ocean races and he also gets a notable driver change to William Carter. He'll be a price and is worth considering in the top three slots. (7) SPECTRUM SEELSTER has been a killer in his last two at this level but is stuck outside and will have to work harder to win again; Tony Morgan is back in the bike.

Race 13: NW1001 in last 4 starts Pace

In a field of stale bottom-level pacers we have a fresh face in Prince Edward Island shipper (5) HANDSOFFNOSEIN. At the very least he's competitive with these time-wise and proves interesting at 20/1 ML.

Monday, August 10

Races 2 & 5: Maryland Standardbred Fund 3YO C&G Trot

There's a quartet of 3YO MD Stakes races on the card for both trotters and pacers. Pennsylvania-based trainer Steve Schoffel ships two Winbak-bred trotters in with decent enough credentials. (4) WORLDLY DREAM in race 2 returned to catch driver Brady Brown in the bike and jogged in a recent Meadows qualifier. If he behaves himself and can drop a couple of seconds from that morning trial he'll have a shot here. In race 5 (2) HATTRICK PATRICK has hit the board in 10 of 12 races racing in overnights at The Meadows in his 3YO season. No reason to think that won't translate well here.
