Ocala sale preview: Sharp Humor filly fastest over quarter-mile

A daughter of Sharp Humor was the fastest juvenile over a quarter-mile Thursday at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's third under-tack session.

Hip No. 992, a Sharp Humor filly out of Indyfendant, went a quarter-mile in 20.6 seconds at the third of four under-tack sessions previewing the sales company's April 2-year-old sale in Ocala, Fla. The sessions take place on OBS's synthetic surface.

Blue River Bloodstock consigns Hip No. 922. Blue River Bloodstock also consigns the juvenile who had Thursday's fastest work over three-eighths. That was Hip No. 1015, a filly by The Daddy and out of Jewelberry, who covered the distance in 33.2 seconds.

Seven youngsters, five of them fillies, posted the day's fastest eighth-mile time of 10 seconds. They were Hip No. 717, a Wildcat Heir-Dana's Lucky Lady filly consigned by the Flying Fish agency; Hip No. 759, an Olmodavor-Dewars Rocks filly offered by J. Carlos Garcia; Hip No. 790, a City Place-Dream With Angels filly consigned by Harris Training Center; Hip No. 850, a Freud-Fast Read filly consigned by Hoppel's Horse and Cattle Co., agent; Hip No. 882, a Northern Afleet-Fort Lauderdale filly from the Shamrok Stables, agency; Hip no. 944, a Half Ours-Hatta Flower colt consigned by Old South Farm, agent; and Hip No. 952, an Officer-Heiress Apparent gelding offered by Sescan, LLC.

The under-tack previews were to continue through Friday at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company facility in Ocala, Fla., starting daily at 8 a.m.

The auction will run April 18-21, also at OBS, with sales starting at 10:30 a.m. each day.
