OBS winter mixed sale catalog now online

The catalog for the 2015 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. winter mixed sale is now available online.

The two-day auction will feature a consignor-preferred session on Wednesday, Jan. 28 followed by open and horses of racing age sessions on Thursday, Jan. 29. Both sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.

A total of 497 horses have been cataloged across the three sessions, pending supplemental entries, down 39 percent from the 2014 renewal of the winter mixed sale, which featured a final catalog size of 809 entries.

An optional under-tack show will be held for entries in the horses of racing age segment at the Ocala Training Center on Monday, Jan. 26, beginning at 10 a.m. A separate racing-age catalog will be available on the OBS website, in print form on the sale grounds, and via the Equineline Sales Catalog app.

The OBS Championship Stakes races will once again be run in conjunction with the winter mixed sale on Tuesday, Jan. 27, with first post at 1 p.m.

The catalog features 246 newly-turned yearlings by veteran sires including Broken Vow, Distorted Humor, Exchange Rate, Into Mischief, Kantharos, Majestic Warrior, Pioneerof the Nile, Tale of the Cat, Warrior’s Reward, and Wildcat Heir. The sires represented by their first yearlings include Algorithms, Brilliant Speed, Bullet Train, Dialed In, Gemologist, Hansen, and The Factor.

Among the stallions with their first mares in foal at the sale are Brethren, Data Link, Jimmy Creed, New Year’s Day, Overanalyze, Prospective, Rattlesnake Bridge, and Treasure Beach.
