OBS winter mixed catalog now online

The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. 2016 winter mixed sale is now online, featuring 522 horses on offer.

The two-day sale will begin with a consignor-preferred session on Wednesday, Jan. 27, followed by an open session on Thursday, Jan. 28 followed immediately by the horses of racing age segment. Both days of selling will begin at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.

A total of 69 horses comprise the horses of racing age section of the auction, with supplemental entries still being accepted. A separate supplemental racing-age catalog will be available on the OBS website and in print on the sale grounds. The optional under-tack show will be held Monday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m.
Among the 340 newly turned yearlings in the catalog are ones from the first crops of stallions including Anthony’s Cross, Archwarrior, Awesome Patriot, Brethren, Corfu, Currency Swap, Data Link, Duke of Mischief, Flashpoint, Flat Out, Fort Larned, Forty Tales, Jimmy Creed, Justin Phillip, Keep Up, Liaison, Morning Line, New Year’s Day, O’Prado Again, Overanalyze, Passion for Gold, Paynter, Point of Entry, Poseidon’s Warrior, Power Broker, Prospective, Shanghai Bobby, Soldat, Take Charge Indy, Treasure Beach, Trinniberg, Turbo Compressor, Violence, Winslow Homer, and Wrote.

Stallions whose first books of mares are represented in the OBS winter mixed sale include Atreides, Black Onyx, Cameo Appearance, Csaba, Drill, Fed Biz, Guilt Trip, Handsome Mike, He’s Had Enough, Honorable Dillon, Itsmyluckyday, Revolutionary, and Uncaptured.

The OBS Championship Stakes races will once again run in conjunction with the winter mixed sale, and are set for Tuesday, Jan. 26, with first post at 1 p.m.
