OBS under-tack: Six run 10-second furlongs

Six juveniles sped an eighth of a mile in 10 seconds Wednesday as the fastest workers at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's second under-tack preview for its upcoming spring 2-year-old sale.

The six were Hip No. 469, a Tiznow-Gdanska filly; Hip 518, a Candy Ride-Harlow Gold filly; Hip No. 529, a Cowtown Cat-Her She Shawklit colt; Hip No. 566, a Sky Mesa-Ing Ing colt; Hip No. 567, a Candy Ride-Into Reality filly; and Hip No. 584, an Indian Ocean-Jeet filly.

The quickest time for a quarter-mile work was 20.8 seconds. Two juveniles posted that time: Hip No. 363, a Keyed Entry-Dixie Image filly, and Hip No. 488, a Wildcat Heir-Golden Horseshoe colt. Two youngsters also had the day's bullet work for three furlongs, 33.6 seconds. They were Hip No. 489, a Wild Desert-Golden Park colt, and Hip No. 502, an Ecclesiastic-Gratorious filly.

All breezes took place over the OBS facility's SafeTrack synthetic surface in Ocala, Fla.

The OBS spring 2-year-old sale will take place April 23-26 with each session beginning at 10:30 a.m. The under-tack shows were to continue through Friday, starting daily at 8 a.m. Hip Nos. 599-898 were to breeze Thursday.
