OBS Spring: Wildcat Heir colt tops final breeze session

A colt by Wildcat Heir worked the fastest furlong during Friday’s fourth and final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. spring sale of 2-year-olds in training under-tack show.

The colt covered the distance in 9 3/5 seconds on the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface, surpassing a number of horses who had worked a fifth slower in the previous three days.

Consigned by Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables, as agent, the colt is out of the winning Bertrando mare Exquisite Beauty, who has produced two winners from as many starters. She is a full sister to the winner Perfectly Pretty, the dam of Grade 1 winner and millionaire Idiot Proof.

A Speightstown colt turned in the fastest quarter-mile breeze of the session, covering the distance in 20 3/5 seconds. Out of the Holy Bull mare Emptythetill, the colt is a half-brother to three stakes horses, led by Grade 3 winner Conveyance. Niall Brennan is consigning the colt, as agent for Stonestreet Stables.

A Mass Media colt, consigned by Boutte Sales, agent, tied for the session's fastest three furlongs, in 33 1/5. Consigned by Boutte Sales, agent, the colt is out of the Kris S. mare Appropre. The other co-leader at three furlongs was a colt by Indygo Shiner, out of the winning Level Sands mare Bexley, consigned by All Dreams Equine, agent.

The OBS spring sale will be held April 21-24, with daily sessions starting at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
