OBS spring sale: Mendelssohn filly, Frosted colt share bullet work after four days
Past the midway point of the under-tack preview show for next week's Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s flagship spring sale of 2-year-olds in training, a filly by Mendelssohn and a colt by Frosted shared the bullet time.
Through Wednesday's fourth of seven sessions of the under-tack preview on the Ocala Training Center's all-weather Safetrack, both juveniles had worked a furlong, the traditional yardstick for these sales, in 9 3/5 seconds. Both are among the catalog of more than a thousand juveniles scheduled to sell from April 25 through 28.
The Florida-bred filly, consigned by Off the Hook, as agent, is from the second crop of the globe-trotting Mendelssohn. She is out of the unraced Lonhro mare Caroline Victoria, dam of two winners from as many starters. Grade 1 winner American Theorem appears on the catalog page.
Matching the time was the Frosted colt, a Kentucky-bred who is consigned by Longoria Training and Sales, as agent. He is out of the Indian Charlie mare Handwovven, dam of two winners from three starters. Handwoven is a full sister to stakes-placed Auspicious, dam of stakes-placed Bobby Bo.
