OBS Spring: Into Mischief colt has fastest quarter-mile breeze

An Into Mischief colt took the spotlight during Friday’s session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. 2-year-olds in training sale’s under-tack show, breezing a quarter-mile in 20 3/5 seconds.

It was the second-fastest overall time of the breeze show, after a Wildcat Heir colt stopped the clock on Monday in 20 2/5 seconds over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

Friday’s fastest worker was Hip 848, an Into Mischief colt out of the winning Smart Strike mare Oh So Nice, whose first foal to race is placed. He is from the extended family of Grade 3 winners Crowd Pleaser and Dynamic Holiday, as well as Grade 3-placed stakes winner Appealing Cat.

Thoroughbred Champions Training Center consigns the colt, as agent.

Friday’s under-tack show was also the first of the OBS spring sale that did not produce an eighth-mile time under 10 seconds flat.

Four horses tied for the day’s fastest furlong, each hitting the mark in 10 seconds.

- Hip 809, a Midshipman filly who is the first foal out of the winning Trippi mare My Coastie. Named Angels N Devildogs, the Florida-bred is from the family of Grade 3-placed stakes winners Honey’s Answer and American County. She is consigned by Vargas Sales.

- Hip 811, a Bodemeister colt out of the Argentine Group 2-winning Mutakddim mare My Dear Lady, whose two winners from three runners are Grade 3-placed stakes winner Sky High Lady and stakes winner Sky Preacher. Farther down the page is Argentine Group 1 winner Rupit. Cary Frommer consigns the colt, as agent.

- Hip 868, a first-crop Violence filly who is the second foal out of the winning Grand Slam mare Palomanegra. She is from the family of multiple Grade 3 winner Falling Sky, and is consigned by Eddie Woods, as agent.

- Hip 968, an Awesome Again filly who is the first foal out of the stakes-winning Bellamy Road mare Rivertown Belle. Horse of the Year Holy Bull can be found in the extended family, along with Grade 1 winner Sweet Symphony. She is consigned by Q Bar J Thoroughbreds, as agent.

The OBS spring breeze show concludes Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. Eastern. The auction will take place April 25-28, starting at 10:30 a.m.
