OBS sale: Three 2-year-olds tie for fastest one-furlong breeze

A trio of juveniles tied for the fastest time for an eighth of a mile on Sunday during the opening day of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age sale, hitting the mark in 10 seconds flat.

The horses breezed over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

Following are the three horses that tied for the fastest furlong on Sunday.

Hip 164, a Tizway colt out of the Grade 1-placed Star de Naskra mare Critical Factor, who is the dam of six winners from nine foals to race. The Pennsylvania-bred colt is from the family of Grade 1 winner and leading sire Unbridled's Song, multiple Grade/Group 1 winner Seattle Song, and Grade 3 winners Malabar Gold and Lucky Spell. Wavertree Stables consigns the colt, as agent.

Hip 184, Adios Dawn, an Adios Charlie filly who is the first foal out of the unraced Forest Danger mare Dangerous Dawn. The Florida-bred filly's extended family includes Grade 3 winner Classic Value, Grade 2-placed Peace at Dawn, and stakes winners Mom'z Laugh, Diplomat's Reward, Dispersed Reward, Pat's Joy, and Shuttle Jet. She is consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, agent.

Hip 188, Yes Darlin, a Yesbyjimminy colt out of the multiple stakes-winning Dixie Brass mare Darlin Dixie, whose five foals to race are all winners. Bred in Florida, Yes Darlin’s extended family includes Argentine Group 3 winner El Botija and stakes winners Illusive Ghost, Slewance, La Chiflada, and La Munequita. He is consigned by Pure Silk.

One horse finished the day with the fastest time at a quarter-mile, stopping the clock in 20.60 seconds.

Hip 93, an Into Mischief colt out of the placed Limehouse mare Casa Lima, who has no runners to date. His page features Triple Crown winner and two-time Horse of the Year Affirmed, Grade 1 winner Confidential Lady, Chilean Group 2 winner Paren La Musica, and Grade/Group 3 winners Honolua Storm, Drilling For Oil, and White Crown. Thoroughbred Champions Training Center consigns, as agent.

The OBS June breeze show continues through Friday, beginning each day at 7:30 a.m. Eastern. The auction will take place June 14-17, with a 10:30 a.m. start time.
