OBS June sale: Trio of 2-year-olds post 10-second furlong under tack

Three juveniles clocked eighth-mile works in 10 seconds Saturday, topping the work tab for that distance at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s first under-tack show for its upcoming June 2-year-old sale.

The fastest eighth-mile workers were Hip No. 16, Robert Brewer’s Bernstein-Within colt; Hip No. 80, the Hoppel’s Horse and Cattle agency’s Leroidesanimaux-Booly colt; and Hip No. 154, the Paul Sharp agency’s Elusive Quality-Di’s Delight filly.

A Sir Shackleton colt blazed a quarter-mile in 21 seconds as the fastest at that distance. Offered as Hip No. 106, the colt is out of Circular Reasoning. J. Carlos Garcia is the consigning agent.

A filly from Mr. Sekiguchi’s first crop was the quickest over three-eighths, covering that in 33.6 seconds. The daughter of White Chocolate is Hip No. 9 in the Blue River Bloodstock agency’s consignment.

The OBS June 2-year-old auction’s second under-tack session, featuring Hip Nos. 313-623, begins 8 a.m. Sunday at the OBS facility in Ocala, Fla. Videos will be available at www.obssales.com. The two-day auction is set for June 21-22 at 10:30 a.m., also at the OBS facility.
