The buyback rate was 27 percent in what has been a highly selective marketplace, up from 21 percent last year.
The session-topping Hard Spun colt was purchased by Frank Fletcher Racing from the consignment of de Meric Sales, as agent. The colt had breezed a furlong in 9 4/5 seconds during last week’s under-tack preview show on the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface, placing him among a large group of juveniles tied for the second-fastest time overall.
The colt is out of the stakes-placed Belong to Me mare Mine All Mine. She is the dam of three winners from four starters, including stakes winner Athens Queen.
