OBS August catalog now available

The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s August yearling sale, featuring more than 1,000 yearlings across two sections, is now available via the auction company's website.

There are 257 yearlings cataloged for the Selected Yearling Sale, an increase of 45 percent from the 2013 book. The session is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Conformation photos of yearlings from this session will be available on the OBS website on or about Aug. 4.

The two-day Open Sale has also grown by nearly 20 percent, featuring 773 yearlings. Hip Nos. 259 to 648 sell on Wednesday, Aug. 27, and Hip Nos. 649 to 1037 will be offered Thursday, Aug. 28th. Both Open sessions also begin at 10:30 a.m.

Yearlings offered at the sale will include offspring of leading sires Speightstown, Kitten’s Joy, Giant’s Causeway, Curlin and Lemon Drop Kid, as well as proven sires such as Ghostzapper, Harlan’s Holiday, Scat Daddy, Stormy Atlantic, Street Sense and Unbridled’s Song. First-crop sires represented include champions Cape Blanco, Gio Ponti, and Uncle Mo.

Graduates of the OBS August sale include Eclipse Award winners Groovy, Kodiak Kowboy, Not Surprising, Silver Charm and Xtra Heat.
