O'Brien trio tops National

Aidan O'Brien, who has been in great form recently with 7 winners from his last 20 runners, saddles the three favorites in Sunday's Group 1 Laing O'Rourke National Stakes at The Curragh. For 2-year-olds, the race is run over seven furlongs.

All three of the O'Brien horses are by Danehill and owned by Susan Magnier: George Washington, Horatio Nelson, and Amigoni.

Kieren Fallon had no trouble choosing to ride George Washington, winner of his last three races, all over six furlongs at this course. George Washington won the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes by an impressive eight lengths here on Aug. 7.

Colm O'Donoghue gets the ride on Horatio Nelson, a debut winner here before winning a Group 3 at Newmarket and then the Group 2 Futurity Stakes, over this course and distance, on Aug. 20.
