Oaklawn will have 14 Hall of Famers for event on Count Fleet Handicap card Saturday

Barbara D. Livingston Three-time Kentucky Derby winner Calvin Borel has been arrested twice for drinking and driving since 2019.

Oaklawn Park will bring together 14 members of the Hall of Fame on Saturday to meet with fans during an autograph session and to participate in special winner’s circle presentations, the track announced Tuesday.

Oaklawn will have a 12-race card featuring the Grade 3, $500,000 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap that drew champion Jackie’s Warrior.

The announced participants are Steve Asmussen, Bill Boland, Calvin Borel, Ramon Dominguez, Earlie Fires, Sandy Hawley, Chris McCarron, Bill Mott, Don Pierce, Laffit Pincay Jr., Edgar Prado, Jose Santos, Gary Stevens, and Nick Zito.

Trainers Asmussen, Mott, and Zito have horses entered on the card, as does Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. Borel has mounts on the card.

Oaklawn will give away a commemorative poster as supplies last Saturday. There will be an autograph session beginning at 11 a.m. at the north end of the grandstand. It will end at 12:30 p.m.
