Oaklawn: Percolator makes season debut
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Percolator, who in his last start was elevated to second in the Grade 3 Sanford at Saratoga following the disqualification of Magna Light, will launch his season Sunday at Oaklawn. He goes in the eighth race, a conditioned allowance for 3-year-olds at six furlongs. Others making up a competitive field include Will Munnings and Sightforsoreeyes, who finished second and third to Whitmore in a local allowance Jan. 16.
Percolator is part of a string of horses Servis has sent to Oaklawn. The Sanford has produced two next-out stakes winners, with fifth-place finisher He’s Comin in Hot returning to take a division of the Texas Stallion Stakes at Retama and seventh-place finisher Sunny Ridge the Sapling Stakes at Monmouth.
Corey Nakatani has the mount on Percolator, a son of Flashy Bull owned by Main Line Racing Stables.
Also on the card, the seventh race marks the debut of Moving Away, a 3-year-old full sister to the millionaire Alternation. The 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight race also drew Sassy Miss Sue, a full sister to Grade 1 winner Tiz Miz Sue.
There is a special first post of 1:05 p.m. Central on Sunday due to the Super Bowl.
