Oaklawn Park: Heykittykitty runs for new connections in allowance sprint
Heykittykitty, one of the top 2-year-old fillies last year at Remington Park, will start for new connections in Friday’s eighth race at Oaklawn. She goes in a first-level allowance for 3-year-old fillies at six furlongs, one start after winning a division of the $55,000 Oklahoma Stallion Stakes by seven lengths Nov. 29.
Westrock Stables purchased Heykittykitty from Danny Caldwell following the start, and after beginning her career with trainer Federico Villafranco, she will race Friday for trainer Ron Moquett. Moquett said the Arkansas-based Westrock purchased the filly to have to race at their home meet of Oaklawn.
Heykittykittykitty was a 10-length debut winner in October at Remington, then ran second in a highly-rated allowance before her romp in the Stallion Stakes. She appears to be the controlling speed in the race Friday. Ramon Vazquez has the mount.
