HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Amie’s Dini, a stakes winner this meet at Oaklawn Park who ran a bold second to On Fire Baby in the recent Honeybee, is to make her next start in the Grade 2, $300,000 Fantasy, trainer Ron Moquett said Friday. The Fantasy, a 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies, will be run at Oaklawn on April 11.

Amie’s Dini won the $75,000 Martha Washington in her two-turn debut Feb. 11, then advanced to the Grade 3, $125,000 Honeybee here March 10. She set the pace in the 1 1/16-mile race and put up a serious fight when engaged by On Fire Baby. Amie’s Dini ended up two lengths behind the winner at the wire and earned a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 96.

“She tried hard,” said Moquett, who trains Amie’s Dini for the partnership of Mike Walker and Lou Sutterfield. “She’s got a lot of guts.”

Amie’s Dini is a daughter of Bandini.

The Fantasy is one of two races being considered next for On Fire Baby. The other option is the Grade 1, $1 million Arkansas Derby on April 14. Trainer Gary Hartlage said Friday that next-race plans have not yet been set for On Fire Baby.

Kate’s Main Man tops feature

Kate’s Main Man, a multiple stakes winner who has moved forward with each of his starts at the meet, will be making his third start off a layoff Sunday in the featured eighth race at Oaklawn. The $62,500 optional claimer will be run at 1 1/16 miles.

Kate’s Main Man comes into the race off a third-place finish to the Oaklawn Handicap-bound Stachys in a local allowance March 1. Calvin Borel has the mount for Randy Patterson and trainer Randy Morse. Others set to start include stakes winner The Mallard Man and Racing Bran, who exits the Essex Handicap.
