Oaklawn Park will have a pick six carryover of $52,482 awaiting horseplayers when racing resumes on Thursday. The Hot Springs, Ark., track will be dark on Sunday following the running of the Arkansas Derby on Saturday, when Oaklawn drew a record crowd of 73,000. The $1 pick six will run on races 4-9 on Thursday. The card has been drawn. The sequence opens with a first-level allowance route for fillies and mares that drew Floating Beauty, a stakes-placed closer who might get the right setup with three speed horses drawn to her immediate inside Thursday. The fifth race pits $8,000 claiming horses at 1 1/16 miles. The sequence continues with a maiden special weight for 3-year-old fillies over six furlongs and a $22,000 conditioned claiming sprint. The featured eighth race is a first-level allowance sprint for 3-year-old fillies that drew shipper Little Miss Curlin and the Grade 3-placed runners Mo’ Em Down and Spa Prospector. The sequence wraps up with a $25,000 conditioned claiming sprint for older horses bred in Arkansas. First post Thursday is 12:45 p.m. Central.   :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
