Oak Grove: Tony Hall strikes three times in Monday's sires stakes
Three-year-olds of both sexes and gaits competed in a total of eight $25,000 Oak Grove Sires Stakes splits on Monday afternoon at the Kentucky racetrack.
Driver Tony Hall won three sires stakes sections. He took a colt and gelding pace with Summer Trader, a Sweet Lou gelding bred by Dr. Fred Kruszelnicki, in 1:50 3/5 for trainer John Ackley and owner CT Stables LLC. and then captured a colt and gelding trot with Golden Wall AS, a son of Walner, in 1:55 1/5 for trainer Anette Lorentzon, co-owner/breeder ACL Stuteri AB and co-owner Kjell Johansson. Finally, Hall found the winner's circle in a filly trot with Grandeur, a daughter of Love You trained by Bob Stewart, in 1:56. Grandeur is a homebred for Carter Duer.
Andy McCarthy also had multiple victories in the sires stakes. He landed the second colt and gelding trot with Ducasse, a son of Father Patrick, in 1:53 4/5 for trainer Nancy Takter, co-owner/breeder Fair Island Farm Inc., and co-owners Brixton Medical Inc., Christina Takter, and Hatfield Stables, and a filly pace with Dont Fence Me In, a daughter of Captaintreacherous, in 1:52 2/5 for trainer Tony Alagna and owners Riverview Racing LLC., Alagna Racing LLC., Steven Head, and Pryde Stables Inc. She was bred by Riverview Breeding.

John MacDonald started off the program by scoring in a filly trot with Blue Bayou Deo, a daughter of Trixton bred by Deo Volente Farms LLC. and T L P Stable, in 1:53 for trainer Jason Robinson, and Terminator, by Downbytheseaside and bred by Diamond Creek Farm, won his colt and gelding pace in 1:50 4/5 for Andy Miller, trainer Ron Burke, and owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Weaver Bruscemi LLC., Knox Services Inc., and J&T Silva Stables, LLC.
Lock Bridge tallied in the first flight for filly pacers, prevailing in 1:52 4/5 for Dexter Dunn and Linda Toscano. Lock Bridge, a daughter of Captaintreacherous, was bred by Riverview Breeding, Visionary Breeders, and Minisink Farms.
The Oak Grove Sires Stakes season for sophomores concludes on July 18 with four $100,000 finals.
