Oak Grove: Hat trick for Dunn in Kentucky Sire Stakes

The stage is now set for next Monday's $150,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes finals for 4-year-olds at Oak Grove Racing & Gaming after the prelims concluded this afternoon (June 15).
Trainer Ron Burke swept the $50,000 male paces as Captain Arturovico (Dexter Dunn) prevailed from first-over in 1:50 4/5 and Harrisburg Heist (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) tallied on the front-end in 1:49 1/5.
Captain Arturovico, a Captaintreacherous gelding owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC., Weaver Bruscemi LLC., Larry Karr and Phil Collura, scored his 15th career victory, has now earned $440,809 and paid $3.40 to win.
Harrisburg Heist is a gelded son of Downbytheseaside owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC. Knox Services Inc., Phil Collura and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. He has a summary of 18-4-5 from 37 tries, has pocketed $725,202 and returned $2.22 to win.
In the first male trot division, Whiskey Wow (Dunn) was two-wide until just before the 54 4/5 half when he forged his way by Gimpanzee Dancer (Andy McCarthy). From there, Whiskey Wow put three-quarters on the board in 1:22 4/5 and then came home in 28 3/5 to fend off Gimpanzee Dancer by three-quarters of a length in 1:51 2/5. The second section then saw Vugoo (Yannick Gingras) score in 1:52 1/5 after he led through panels of 27 2/5, 55 2/5 and 1:23 3/5.

Trained by Matt Wilson, Whiskey Wow is a gelding by Crazy Wow. The Burlin Brower-owned Whiskey Wow made his 12th stop in the winner's circle, has now put away $171,530 and paid $4.56 to win.
Trainer Jonas Czernyson also co-owns Vugoo, a son of Googoo Gaagaa, with Per Eriksson, breeder Consus Racing Stable Inc., Dan Shetler and Merrill Murray. Vugoo is a five-time winner from 24 trips behind the gate, has banked $155,050 and returned $8.20 to win.
Dunn also won the mare pace with Three Times Bettor on the engine in 1:49 4/5, while the mare trot went to R Dutchess (Tim Tetrick) from the pocket in 1:53 flat.
Three Times Bettor, a daughter of Bettor's Delight, was sent out by Brett Pelling for owner Thaddeus Weir. She's won in 14 of her 23 efforts, has a bankroll of $317,824 and paid $5.18 to win.
R Dutchess, by Father Patrick, is a Tyler Butenschoen trainee. Owned by M And L De/Armitage Farm, she posted her ninth lifetime victory, has earnings of $587,805 and returned $7.48 to win.
The Kentucky Sire Stakes finals for 4-year-olds will take place next Monday on a program that will also feature the opening leg for 2- and 3-year-olds.
