Last time he handled being three wide with a breaker to his inside and looked very comfortable. I don’t think we’ve seen his best, which is scary. (7) GIMPANZEE DANCER made an eye-popping move to be second in leg one and was a sharp winner last time. If any horse in this field can take on the top one, it’s him. (2) VUGOO was no match for the top pick last time but he’s still been rallying nicely; inside post helps him get an exotics piece. (1) ROYAL COMET raced pretty well in the preliminary legs and could be a sneaky trifecta player. [DRF HARNESS: Get free Harness Eye PPs for this card and much more] Race 2: $100K KY Sire Stakes 4YO H&G Pace Final (6) FUSION had a useful mile to prepare for this race after missing leg two due to more of a clerical issue that had nothing to do with the horse. I liked what I saw from him to start the year on April 27 and fully expect him to bring a big mile. (5) HARRISBURG HEIST displayed some versatility last week and that gives driver Wrenn even more options; clearly the one to beat. (1) HIGHER GROUND has been good in both Sire Stakes appearances this year but I’m not sure if he has another gear to reach the next level quite yet. Race 3: $100K KY Sire Stakes 4YO Mare Pace Final - Pick 5 (1) THREE TIMES BETTOR is another Pelling trainee that missed leg two of this series due to a “documents” issue. She came back and blitzed an Open field at 1-9 here on Sunday and that should have her plenty tight in this showdown with Unreasonable and some other quality mares. Note that Dunn chose her over the Harris-trained Unreasonable, which is a big call of confidence. (2) ODDS ON CHESAPEAKE was a very game second last time and a good third prior to that. She could be the exacta value play as the focus is firmly placed on the top selection and (3) UNREASONABLE, who is perfect in two starts on the year, though admittedly got a perfect trip last time. (8) CHAMPAGNE ROOM has the early speed to make some serious noise in here but needs to get a bit lucky in terms of trip to be a win player. Race 4: $50K KY-bred Open Trot (4) TE QUIERO LINDY is one of a few in here that have been tackling tougher company in the KY Sire Stakes and he’s been doing the best work of those despite offering bigger odds in many cases. This looks like a prime spot to send him to the front and sit no worse than a pocket trip, if not set the pace. (2) HERECOMESDAJUDGE flashed speed of his own last week and broke vying for the lead with a couple of others. Getting around #1 should be less stressful and that could equate to a much better performance at nice odds. (9) TAIPAN AS raced well in his return to the races on April 29 and was a contender in KYSS last year; post is main issue. (7) GLOBAL SENSATION shows a race a few starts back where he left the gate hard. Those tactics could make him a contender here. Race 5: $50K Oak Grove Trotting Oaks Bronze Consolation for 3YO Fillies (2) BURNINGFORYOURLOVE got a bit of a strange drive in her 2026 debut. Maybe it had something to do with the number of breaks she has displayed in her qualifiers. Anyway, I do believe there is some ability here and she picks up a U.S. catch driver this week with that clean line under her belt; more now? (1) BRATTITUDE went a nice even mile to start the year in the prep race for this even on April 27 and then was saddled with post eight and never got involved last time. I’m not sure I love her as the heavy favorite that her morning-line hints at, but she should awaken. (3) ADIOS MY LINDY made her way nicely around a break and then followed suit in the elimination round of this series. Hobbles on today could make a big difference. (6) FOX VALLEY GIMLET raced well as a 2-year-old. Maybe she needed the start last time. Race 6: $50K KY-bred Open Pace (4) STRANGERINTHENIGHT has done very well with a pair of recent wins when away from KYSS competition. Dunn joins the team today and should have him in position to succeed. (7) CAPT KARMA was second best to the heavy chalk here on Sunday and that should have him plenty tight. Picking up Gingras this time around, I have to think he’ll be firing off the gate. (2) LAFITTE hasn’t been able to handle the bump in company to KYSS and while some will take a positive view on the class drop, keep in mind that we don’t know how well she’ll do in this barn. (8) HANDSOME STRANGER was Andrew McCarthy’s choice over the morning line favorite (#2); barn loyalty or does he feel this one is better? Race 7: $50K Oak Grove Trotting Derby Silver Consolation for 3Yos (5) BIG RANGER did all the heavy lifting and finished four behind four horses that would be heavy favorites in this field. As long as nothing crazy happens in terms of behavior, and there is no reason to think it will, take the 1-9 on him and watch him lead at every call. (4) CEO JOE took a ton of money and disappointed the “wise guy” players as he made multiple breaks during the mile. There is talent here and maybe trainer Greg Wright can make the right moves. (2) ZEPHYR KEMP can certainly move forward in his second start since October. Race 8: $100K KY Sire Stakes 4YO Mare Trot Final - $20K GTD Pick 4 (7) YO TILLIE has an insane win percentage and while her victories were close this year, you have to give her extra credit for digging down deep as some horses would’ve folded up when met with intense pressure. Dan Patch winner figures to find a way but I wouldn’t say she can’t lose. (4) R DUTCHESS dropped more than a second from her first start to her second and I believe more improvement is likely in the offing. Let’s look for her to be put in play early this time. (3) WINNPANZEE has raced very well in her last two starts and certainly has a shot. Race 9: $75K Oak Grove Trotting Oaks Silver Consolation for 3YO Fillies (7) R RO is a bit of a tricky filly to drive according to her trainer and they were extra careful with her last time coming off the break and being on the far outside. When allowed to trot late in the mile she finished very willingly from last. New driver Zeron knows her and could put her in play earlier this time. (9) COUNTRY GLIDE attacked one of the fillies to beat in the elimination round and flattened in her 2026 debut. The post here isn’t ideal but she is far and away the most accomplished young lady in this field. (5) OUT THE WINDOW dropped almost three seconds from start one to start two this year. Three-year-old hails from a good barn and has a chance on her best. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: $300K G1 Oak Grove Trotting Oaks Final for 3YO Fillies (8) SETYOURSIGHTSHIGH came up short last week in her first start of the year after just shipping north from Florida. That blemish, along with the outside draw and presence of the favorite (1) NAKED AND FAMOUS on the inside of the gate, should provide us with a good price on last year’s Breeders Crown runner-up who could be the most talented in the field. The latter was absolutely spectacular in her elim as her foes couldn’t keep up. Daughter of Six Pack isn’t eligible to the Hambletonian Oaks so she might as well empty the tank today. (4) CARVE was no match for her stablemate (#1) last time but will improve with that start under her belt. She’ll certainly be an exotics player. (2) JAILBIRD JOG has some ability and will be a nice price. (6) CUSTOM also showed talent late last year and in her elim. The problem is the price won’t be great on a filly that could be racing from behind. Race 11: $500K G1 Oak Grove Trotting Derby Final for 3YOs (9) SILVERSTEIN only won by two lengths in his elimination but did it so easily that the margin of victory could’ve been greater. While the post isn’t ideal and losing Miller due to injury is terrible, new driver Scott Zeron has pulled off many miracles from tough spots in the past and he won’t need much magic to win with this guy. (6) ENDURANCE was super in his elimination, coming first-over and winning rather easily. He was asked in the stretch but would’ve won if they went around the track again. He’s certainly the horse to beat and a must-use on your Pick 4 ticket. (3) AI seems like a better horse this year and was a good second behind Endurance last week. Still, he’d need to take a step forward to threaten for the top spot. (2) NIX NACKEN is another Marcus Melander-trained horse that is likely to improve in his second start of the year and I like his expected price much better than stablemate (1) SPENCER HANOVER, who was made the morning-line favorite but seems likely to go off second choice.
