Ny Traffic will get a break and race again at 4

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Saffie Joseph Jr., the leading trainer at the Gulfstream Park spring-summer meet, has been on hand at Keeneland all week after traveling to Baltimore to saddle Ny Traffic for a ninth-place finish in the Preakness.
Ny Traffic is “already back at my barn at Gulfstream,” Joseph said. “He’s going to get a break before we get him ready for a 4-year-old campaign.”
Going forward, Joseph said he intends to have a presence at the major meets on this circuit. Through Thursday, he’s 4 for 18 with his Kentucky starters since Sept. 1.
Four stakes next week
Stakes on four consecutive programs will take place here next week, with the highlight being the Grade 2 Raven Run on Saturday. The Sunday feature, the Grade 3 Dowager, is the last stakes of the 17-day fall meet, even with four more dates (Oct. 21-24) to run.

Bailey with a big one
Chel-c Bailey, who resumed riding in earnest over the winter at Oaklawn Park, notched her fourth career win when Parking Ticket prevailed in a three-way photo in the second race Thursday at Keeneland.
Bailey, who grew up in the Pacific Northwest, was a mixed-martial arts fighter prior to becoming an exercise rider in 2017. She began her apprenticeship a little more than a year ago in Minnesota and continues to ride with a 10-pound allowance, with her first three wins all having come at Oaklawn.
