NTRA to unveil ad campaign

Matt Hegarty|Oct 11, 2005

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association has produced a new advertising campaign that will debut with the 2005 Breeders' Cup at Belmont Park in New York and run through at least 2006, the NTRA said Tuesday.

According to the NTRA, the ad campaign, which is aimed at increasing interest in horse racing, will use celebrities asking the question, "Who do you like today?" The campaign was produced by Conover Tuttle Pace, a Boston public relations and marketing firm that has been associated with the NTRA since its inception in 1998.

The NTRA's use of national advertising has flagged somewhat since it launched the "Go Baby Go" campaign in 1998, with the actress Lori Petty as the NTRA's spokeswoman. The budget for the current campaign will be $5 million, the NTRA said.

The NTRA will continue to use "Go Baby Go," the association said, but in a more limited role.
