NTRA to release 'Winner's Circle' documentary about NHC

A documentary co-produced by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association about the National Horseplayers Championship will debut on March 6 on a streaming site, the NTRA announced on Friday.

The documentary, called “Winner’s Circle,” aims to capture the “intensity, strategy, and passion of the competitors who dedicate their lives to beating the odds and mastering the art of handicapping,” according to the NTRA. Co-produced by Duality Sports and Entertainment, and directed by Michael Horton, the documentary relies heavily on footage and interviews conducted at the 2024 National Horseplayers Championship, the largest tournament of its kind.

The documentary focuses on three individuals, including Alexa Zepp, a Daily Racing Form handicapper who is a regular on the handicapping tournament circuit; Seth Morris, a former finance professional who became a bloodstock agent and racing manager; and Justin Mustari, who is the youngest player to win the NHC.

“The moment we stepped onto the tournament floor at the NHC, it was clear that horse racing’s most passionate and knowledgeable fans are its gamblers,” said Horton.

The documentary will be available on Duality’s YouTube channel on March 6, approximately one week prior to the 2025 NHC, which runs from March 14-16.
