NTRA gains three members

Two racetracks and one horsemen's group have agreed to join the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the NTRA said on Friday.

Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark., and Tampa Bay Downs outside Tampa, Fla., will rejoin the NTRA, effective Jan. 1, 2003, the NTRA said. Both tracks joined the NTRA when it was formed in 1997, but had dropped out.

The Oregon Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association also will join as of Jan. 1, 2003, the NTRA said. The Oregon HBPA represents horsemen at Portland Meadows, which is already a member of the NTRA.
