Not So Quiet roars on turf, wins Vice Regent Stakes

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Not So Quiet made some noise Sunday at Woodbine when he notched his first stakes victory in the $150,800 Vice Regent, in his turf debut under Rafael Hernandez.
Not So Quiet ($12.60) stalked a two-way pace battle from a three-wide position on the turn in the five-furlong inner course sprint for Ontario-bred runners.
City Boy, the 5-2 favorite, dueled with Forester’s Turn through a moderate pace before taking control in the stretch. Not So Quiet then wore down City Boy in the final 70 yards to prevail by three-quarters of a length, in a time of :57.19 over the firm ground.

Nevaeh’s Dream finished another three-quarters of a length back in third, a head in front Alicia’s Kid, as Sable Island checked in fifth in the 10-horse field.
A gelded son of Canada’s premier turf sire, Silent Name, Not So Quiet earned $90,000 for Heste Sport Inc. He was the third winner on the card for leading trainer Mark Casse, who has a meet-leading nine stakes victories.
Not So Quiet had chased home the champion sprinter Pink Lloyd in each of his three previous outings in stakes on the Tapeta, with his best result being a third in the Grade 3 Jacques Cartier.
