Northfield: Party Up swiftest in Monday's Ohio Sires Stakes tests

Greg Reinhart|Jul 13, 2026

Dan Noble steered Party Up and Breadnbutterz to victories in two of the three $50,000 Ohio Sires Stakes tilts for rookie pacing fillies on Monday night at Northfield Park. Brett Miller won the other flight with Moni N The Safe.

Party Up worked most of a 27 4/5 quarter to get the lead in her division, and then Noble backed the half down to 57 2/5 as favorite Tempting Flames (Tony Hall) was out and on the move first-over out of fourth. Tempting Flames joined Party Up en route to the 1:25 3/5 three-quarters, and the fillies were locked in battle all the way to the wire. Party Up was unwavering on the inside, though, and repelled Tempting Flames' attack, defeating her by half a length in 1:53 1/5. Yourgonaloveme (B. Miller) was third.

A Vieux Carre Farms-bred daughter of Lather Up, Party Up is trained by Joe Bongiorno for owner Morrison Racing Stables. Party Up, who paid $9.60 to win as the 7-2 third choice, was making her first pari-mutuel start off a win and a second in two qualifiers at Gaitway Farm in New Jersey.

Breadnbutterz took advantage of 1-5 favorite and Next Generation champion Real Classy (Chris Page) making breaks on both the second and third turns to win the final grouping in 1:54 2/5 after she put up fractions of 29, 58 1/5 and 1:26. Demons Angel (B. Miller) was second from the pocket and Venus Laude (Carson Conrad) came in third.

The victorious filly is by Downbytheseaside, trained by Cory Deyermand, owned by Kapp Equine Estates and was bred by Fred Hertrich III. Breadnbutterz, who was third in the Next Generation, broke her maiden in career start number three, has pocketed $45,250 and returned $17.20 to win as a 7-1 offering.

Delightful Tammie (Tyler Smith) hit the quarter in 28 seconds and the half in 57 4/5 back in the first section, but Moni N The Safe and Miller came with a first-over thrust out of fifth before the half and continued it to take control nearing the 1:26 4/5 three-quarters. From there, Moni N The Safe kicked home in 28 1/5 to keep 2 1/4 lengths clear from favorite Dancin Miki (Page) in a 1:55 mile. Summa Summa (Justin Irvine) grabbed third.

Steve Carter sent out Moni N The Safe, who is by Monte Miki and was bred by Big Bad Dt Racing Stable and Midland Acres Inc., for owners Jay and Jacob Mossbarger. Moni N The Safe won in her initial outing after she was third and first in a pair of baby races at Scioto Downs.
