Rose Run Zane and Clever Cody, sent off at 1-9 and 1-5, respectively, delivered as expected in a pair of $65,000 Ohio Sires Stakes divisions for sophomore colt and gelding pacers on Saturday evening at MGM Northfield Park.
In the first grouping Rose Run Zane (Austin Hanners) sped out from post one but would allow a firing-out Janelle Granny (Aaron Merriman) to clear before moving back around that rival at the 27 1/5 opening quarter. Rose Run Zane would then hit the half in 56 3/5 and the three-quarters in 1:24 3/5 before he used a 28 1/5 final kicker to slam the door on the win by three-quarters of a length. Janelle Granny raced well in a second-place effort and Hundred Dollar Man (Montrell Teague) rode the rail and wound up third.
A Racing Hill gelding bred by Rose Run Farm, Rose Run Zane is trained by Dan Venier for owners John and Leann Saunders. This was Rose Run Zane's ninth win from 15 career starts, he has now earned $220,020 and he paid $2.20 to win.

Clever Cody (Merriman) also started from the pole position and took the other flight in a matching 1:52 clocking. He carved out stations of 27 4/5, 56 2/5 and 1:24 and a 28 second last quarter got him to the wire 2 1/4 lengths ahead of pocket-sitter Rock The Hill (Billy Davis Jr.). Outer Banks (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) sat on the inside in the three-hole and ended up finishing in that spot.
Dr. Ian Moore trains Clever Cody, a colt by The Panderosa, for owner Clever Cody Stable. The Marvin Raber-bred has a summary of 8-1-2 from 13 trips behind the gate, he has now pocketed $448,372 and he returned $2.60 to win.
