Northfield: Favored filly trotters victorious in Ohio Sires Stakes
Rose Run Yanae and Swinging Senorita both led at every call on their way to winning the two $55,000 Ohio Sires Stakes races for 3-year-old trotting fillies that occurred on Sunday evening at MGM Northfield Park.
Starting from post one, Rose Run Yanae (Chris Page) went straight to the point, chopped out panels of 27 4/5, 56 3/5 and 1:25 3/5, and sprinted home in 28 2/5 to defeat pocket-sitter Global Girl (Don Irvine Jr.) by 3 3/4 lengths in 1:54. Crysta's Legacy (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) was the third-place finisher.

The result was closer in the other flight, but otherwise looked very similar as Swinging Senorita (Anthony MacDonald) went to the engine from post six, was in command at the 27 2/5 quarter, 56 3/5 half and 1:24 2/5 three-quarters, and held off a first-over Cornstar (Chris Lems) to the wire, scoring by a quarter of a length in 1:54 1/5. Chulada (Aaron Merriman) took third.
