Ellagator became the fastest 5-year-old-and-up pacing mare on a half-mile track in the history of harness racing when she won the $18,000 Fillies and Mares Open in 1:49 3/5 at MGM Northfield Park on Saturday (June 18). The previous record was 1:50, held by Godiva Seelster (Greg Grismore) in 2018 at Northfield. Northfield Park's leading trainer Cory Kreiser conditions the pacer for owner Thunder Racing Stables of Brecksville, Ohio. Billy Davis Jr. was in the sulky for the winning drive. Ellagator (Western Vintage-Dame Truth-Total Truth) started from post six.
