North American sale action will only pick up steam after Saratoga

Fasig-Tipton kicked off the yearling sale season in Kentucky last month and has a busy start to August with its Saratoga selected and New York-bred yearling sales. But there’s hardly time for a breather, as the North American yearling sale season rolls right along.

Fasig-Tipton hosts three more sales in three different states. Keeneland will take center stage with the international marketplace drawn to its bellwether two-week September sale, and the nation’s other major auction house, the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co., also is in on the action. Along with the “big three,” a number of regional auction houses conduct their own sales. The Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society, for one, holds multiple auctions, highlighted by its Ontario chapter.
