Norm Casse getting underway at Keeneland

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Norm Casse has assembled a stable of about eight active runners as his solo training career gets under way in earnest this spring. The 34-year-old son of trainer Mark Casse has an 18-stall allotment at Keeneland, “but there are quite a few 2-year-olds still to come in.”

“I’m hoping to maybe have five or six starts this meet before we move everything over to Churchill after the Derby,” he said.

Norm Casse, his dad’s former top assistant, went winless from three starts at Gulfstream, all with the same horse, Rate of Return, who was claimed from his latest race Friday.
