Trainer Peter Miller, who sent None Above the Law to Golden Gate Fields four weeks ago to win the Silky Sullivan, saw his still-improving 3-year-old make it 2 for 2 in Northern California as he pulled clear in the stretch to win the $77,250 Alcatraz Stakes on Sunday. The Silky Sullivan had to be transferred to Golden Gate's Tapeta main track because of rain, but None Above the Law showed that surface makes no difference to him as he ran down Seattle Bold in Sunday's one-mile turf race. Seattle Bold, who finished second to None Above the Law in the Silky Sullivan, added blinkers and set the pace Sunday. Setting legitimate fractions (23.14, 46.33, 1:10.32, 1:23.63), he ran gamely, but was no match for the winner. None Above the Law ($5.80) was content to sit back early under jockey Irving Orozco, saving ground most of the way. :: DRF Bets players get free Daily Racing Form Past Performances and up to 5% weekly cashback. Nothing bothers him.” In his only other turf start, None Above the Law was seventh in the Del Mar Juvenile Turf last September. But he was beaten by only 2 1/2 lengths. “That was a better-than-looks race, and, when you look at his turf breeding by Karakontie out of turf stakes-winning Legally Bianca, we knew he'd love grass.” The victory, worth $45,000 to owners Downstream Racing, lifted the Cal-bred gelding's earnings to $173,810 with his fourth win in 10 starts.
