Noble’s Promise could run back in the Nov. 27 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct and/or the Dec. 26 Malibu at Santa Anita following his impressive return to action on the Friday Breeders’ Cup undercard, according to trainer Ken McPeek. Noble’s Promise, making his first start in nearly five months, won a six-furlong overnight stakes in 1:08.92, while Big Drama won the six-furlong BC Sprint in 1:09.05 the next day. “We were thrilled,” McPeek said. “I’m thinking of the Cigar Mile only because it’s more of a sprinter’s mile, and we want to keep him going shorter, where he seems to be more effective. Or we might just wait for the Malibu” at seven furlongs. Both the Cigar Mile and Malibu are Grade 1 races. As for several of his top 2-year-olds, McPeek said Rogue Romance, third in the BC Juvenile, and Kathmanblu, third in the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf, are likely to run back here Nov. 27 in the Kentucky Jockey Club and Golden Rod Stakes, respectively, while maiden winner Halo’s Thunder could run in the Delta Jackpot on Nov. 20.
