Noble Moon preparing for 2015 debut

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Noble Moon, the winner of the Grade 2 Jerome in 2014, worked three furlongs in 37.85 seconds Thursday, his second breeze of the year. He has not run since finishing sixth in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile last Nov. 29.
Trainer Leah Gyarmati is pleased with the progress Noble Moon is making and said she would look to run him in a second-level allowance race when he is ready.
Meanwhile, Gyarmati’s top 3-year-old filly, Wonder Gal, had a little setback that forced her to miss a workout this week. Wonder Gal, second in the Grade 1 Frizette and third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, sustained a cut on an ankle and has missed a few days of training.
“I didn’t want to miss days, so I tried to keep it covered and train with it, but it wasn’t healing, so I just stopped and kept her in the barn for a couple of days,” Gyarmati said Thursday. “I would have liked to have breezed today, but that’s going to have to wait.”
◗ For the second straight day, there were not enough entrants to card the $100,000 Jimmy Winkfield Stakes for 3-year-old sprinters. The racing office plans to try again next week.
