Nobiz Like Shobiz in Jackpot mix

Nobiz Like Shobiz, who would have been a top contender in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile but did not run, was one of 18 horses pre-entered Wednesday in the Grade 3, $1 million Delta Jackpot. The 1 1/16-mile race for 2-year-olds will be run at Delta Downs on Dec. 1.

The field for the Jackpot will be limited to 10 starters. Go Poppa Fooze, winner of the local prep, the $150,000 Jean Lafitte, has first starting preference. Second preference is to horses who have finished third or better in graded stakes, and the third preference is highest earnings, said Chris Warren, director of racing for Delta.

Nobiz Like Shobiz was second in the Grade 1 Champagne in his last start Oct. 14. Other pre-entries with graded credentials are Officer Rocket, Xchanger, and Scatter the Tak.

The remaining pre-entries are Green Vegas, Birdbirdistheword, Freesgood, Pirates Deputy, Ice Man Cometh, Malt Magic, Pike Viper, Mistycal Light, Summer Doldrums, Liquidity, Kong the King, Regal Officer, and Bayou De Storm.
