No stopping Cox as he sends out impressive Sunday winner Sun Path

Mere hours after leading Monomoy Girl off the van at the Fasig-Tipton sales grounds early Sunday in Lexington, Ky., trainer Brad Cox was back in the winner’s circle at Churchill.
Cox saddled a 2-year-old Munnings filly named Sun Path for an eye-catching maiden victory in the second race Sunday. The Juddmonte Farms homebred overcame an awkward start to win the seven-furlong race by three widening lengths.
Cox tied a Breeders’ Cup record over the weekend by winning four races – the Juvenile Fillies Turf with Aunt Pearl, the Juvenile with Essential Quality, the Dirt Mile with Knicks Go, and the Distaff with Monomoy Girl. The feat matches the record set in 2003 by Richard Mandella.
Through the weekend, Cox’s 2020 stable earnings stood at more than $17.4 million from 769 starts, second in the national standings only to Steve Asmussen ($17.9 million, 1,962 starts).

“It’s all been so unbelievable,” Cox said.
