No Parole will get shot at Kentucky Derby prep

No Parole is poised to jump onto the Kentucky Derby trail after winning the first three starts of his career by a combined margin of 34 lengths. His latest score came Saturday night at Delta Downs, in the $100,000 Louisiana Premier Night Prince.
No Parole was making his two-turn debut and set a measured pace under jockey James Graham, responded when asked for run into the stretch, and was in hand late while getting the mile in 1:39.93. The score came off a pair of wins at six furlongs.
“We learned that a mile is within his capability, and that’s important because it was a race going two turns,” trainer Tom Amoss said. “You’re always wondering on that transition from one to two turns, can your horse be as effective.”
No Parole won by 6 1/2 lengths. He has since shipped back to his base of Fair Grounds.

“We’ll let him get over the race,” Amoss said. “We’re going to look toward a Derby prep for him next.”
Amoss said the specific prep would probably be determined in a week or so, after discussion with owner Maggi Moss.
No Parole is a Triple Crown-nominated son of Violence who won his debut in a maiden special weight for Louisiana-breds on Dec. 15 at Fair Grounds, earning a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 89. He proceeded to win a conditioned allowance a month later at Fair Grounds before making his stakes debut in the Prince. No Parole was a $75,000 yearling purchase at Keeneland September in 2018, and he is from the female family of $1.2 million earner License Fee.
