No Parole romps in Louisiana Premier Night Prince

Triple Crown nominee No Parole remained undefeated in three career starts on Saturday night, when he won his two-turn debut by 6 1/2 lengths in the $100,000 Louisiana Premier Night Prince at Delta Downs.
The race was one of six stakes on the annual Louisiana Premier Night card. The races are all restricted to Louisiana-breds and they were worth a cumulative $645,000. It is the richest night of racing at Delta.
No Parole ($2.10) moved to the lead soon after the start of the one-mile Prince for 3-year-olds and was up by a length through fractions of 23.92 seconds for the opening quarter and 49.39 for the half-mile. He increased his advantage through six furlongs in 1:14.38 and at the top of the stretch jockey James Graham asked No Parole for a strong finish. The horse responded, and went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:39.93.
“He relaxed well, finished really fast,” Graham said on the simulcast feed from Delta. “He’s very willing to do anything you want.”

Tom Amoss trains No Parole for Maggi Moss and said plans are to be determined for the promising son of Violence.
"I think we have to try one of the Triple Crown preps," Amoss said on the simulcast feed from Delta. "He earned it tonight."
No Parole has now won his three career starts by a combined margin of 34 lengths. He won his debut in a maiden special weight sprint for Louisiana-breds on Dec. 15 at Fair Grounds, with a Beyer Speed Figure of 90. One start later, he captured a conditioned allowance sprint, also for statebreds, on Jan. 11 at Fair Grounds.
No Parole was bred by Coteau Grove Farms. He was a $75,000 yearling purchase at Keeneland September in 2018. He has now earned $114,600. No Parole is from the female family of $1.2 million earner License Fee.
Minit to Stardom flies home
Grade 2 Honorable Miss heroine Minit to Stardom powered home in the $100,000 Matron, winning the five furlong race by 3 1/2 lengths over Midnight Fantasy. It was another 4 3/4 lengths back to Play Unified in third.
Minit to Stardom ($3.40) is one of the top Louisiana-breds in training by virtue of her Honorable Miss win last summer at Saratoga. She sat just off the pace in the Matron, and after an opening quarter in 22.10 seconds took command of the race. Minit to Stardom stormed home through the stretch, while covering the distance in a quick 57.73 seconds.
“She just opened up,” said winning rider Alex Cintron, who also was aboard for the Honorable Miss.
“I have a lot of confidence in her. She’s unbelievable. She’s always there for me.”
Jose Camejo trains Minit to Stardom for her breeder, Brittlyn Stable. Minit to Stardom is a daughter of Star Guitar. She has now won 9 of 14 starts and earned $536,180. She was winning her fourth career stakes race in the Matron.
Following the race there was a claim of foul by the rider of Midnight Fantasy against the winner, but it was disallowed by the stewards and there were no changes made to the order of finish.
The Matron was the first start of the year for the 5-year-old Minit to Stardom.
“She looks the part and everybody likes the way she looks,” Evelyn Benoit of Brittlyn Stables said on the simulcast from Delta. “You hope they perform that way.”
Underpressure captures Championship
Underpressure came rolling in the stretch for a half-length win over Pound for Pound in the $150,000 Championship. It was another five lengths back to Stall Fitzstall in third.
Underpressure ($12.40) had one horse beat early as Shang took the field through fractions of 24.17 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.81 for the half-mile and 1:13.69 for six furlongs. The eventual winner advanced on the final turn then closed with a rush to cover 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.51.
“He’s such a pleasure to ride,” said winning jockey Gerard Melancon.
Underpressure is a 6-year-old son of Birdstone owned by Mallory Greiner and trained by Chris Richard. He was winning his sixth career stakes race in the Championship and overall has compiled a record of 12 wins from 35 starts for earnings of $693,382.
Double for Arceneaux
Trainer Victor Arcenuaux had a stakes double on the night when Mariah’s Galaxy ($3.60) darted to a clear victory in the $125,000 Distaff and Steph’sfullasugar ($6) ran her record to 2-for-2 in the $100,000 Starlet.
Mariah’s Galaxy delivered as the 4-5 favorite when she moved past pacesetter Tenpins Tempo after a half-mile in 49.22 seconds and increased her advantage to the wire, winning the mile race for fillies and mares in 1:39.48. Kevin Smith was aboard for the partnership of Riley Blanchet and Todd Matte. Mariah’s Galaxy won by four lengths over Tenpins Tempo. The winner is by Greeley’s Galaxy and she has now won 10 of 25 starts for earnings of $384,985. She was winning her fourth stakes race Saturday.
Steph’sfullasugar stalked Our Lost Love through fractions of 23.90 seconds for the opening quarter, 49.61 for the half-mile and 1:14.98 before overtaking that one and going on to cover the mile for 3-year-old fillies in 1:41.42. Colby Hernandez was aboard for breeder and owner Autumn Hills Farms. Steph’sfullasugar, who won by 6 3/4 lengths over Our Lost Love, is a daughter of Tapiture who has now earned $90,000.
► Double Barrel Man ($34.20) closed with a rush to win the $100,000 Sprint by three-quarters of a length over Bending Saint. It was another three-quarters of a length back to favorite Laughingsaintssong in third. Double Barrel Man covered five furlongs in 58.28 seconds. Paulina Ramirez was aboard for G K Racing and trainer Karl Broberg. Double Barrel Man is a son of Musket Man who was winning his first stakes in the Sprint. He now has a career record of 8 wins from 42 starts for earnings of $333,302.
► The fifty-cent all-stakes pick four on the sixth through ninth races returned $1,163.75. There was a minimum guaranteed pool of $50,000 and the final pool was $87,683.
