No one can catch Z Smoking Gun in Inaugural

Z Smoking Gun became a stakes winner on Saturday when he won the $40,000 Inaugural at Arapahoe Park. He led throughout for a 3 1/4- length win over Prospector’s Blues. It was another neck back in third to Prater Sixty Four.
The Inaugural, for 3-year-olds at six furlongs, was the first stakes of the Arapahoe mixed meet that opened Friday.
Z Smoking Gun ($16.20) took the field through fractions of 22.40 seconds for the opening quarter and 46 for the half-mile. He pulled clear in the stretch, while covering the distance on a muddy track in 1:12.68.
Russell Vicchrilli was aboard the winner for trainer Kerry Kemper.
Z Smoking Gun has now won 3 of 6 starts and $45,560. He is a Kentucky-bred son of Zensational and races for K Bar K Enterprises.
